Tilt/Shift was founded in 2014 by filmmaker Marc Carlini as a home for his various creative endeavors as a writer, director, editor, and producer. Carlini holds a B.A. in Finance from Georgetown University and an MFA in Film Production from the Florida State University School of Motion Pictures, Television and Recording Arts where he directed the short films Victoria and Worn, which both went on to receive awards at multiple film festivals.

While pursuing his passion as a director on music videos for artists like the Grammy award winning band SOJA, Carlini also built his career as an editor on projects like ESPN’s 30 for 30, added cinematographer to his repertoire on The Gentlemen’s League, and Co-Executive Produced the feature film Dreamland.

Carlini’s feature directorial debut SHE’S IN PORTLAND premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was released by Freestyle Digital Media to critical success on Rotten Tomatoes and a successful viewership across streaming platforms where it was voted one of the 10 Best Road Trip Movies From The 2020s on IMDb.

Originally from the suburbs of Washington D.C., Carlini is now based in Los Angeles where he works in the film and TV editorial department as an assistant editor in the local 700 union. Recent projects include the late William Friedkin’s final film, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and Academy Award Winner Daniel Roher’s first narrative feature, Tuner. He is currently working on Nick Antosca’s  Apple TV original series, Cape Fear, which is based on the 1962 and 1991 films by J. Lee Thompson and Martin Scorsese, respectively.
